The story of Roch & Gaston,
leather craftsmen in Périgueux

"Roch & Gaston is first and foremost a story of encounters..

After meeting Nelly in the markets around Sarlat, I developed a passion for leather crafts. For nearly forty years, Nelly has made an impression in the region, from Sarlat to Monpazier, with her belts, her purses, her pouches, her bracelets and her incredible personality!

When she retired, Nelly passed on to me her knowledge, her techniques, her craftmanship and her passion. After working for a few years in the same markets around Sarlat, Stéphane came and joined me in my adventure, coming along with me at weekends and taking his place in my workshop.

In 2015, we discovered with wonder the Christmas market of Périgueux, a city too little known in the region and yet so rich and perfect for us: one thing lead to another and we opened our first shop in the city center. We called it Roch&Gaston after our grandfathers, our models of tradition and authenticity, which are some of the values that we wish to perpetuate in our work.

The adventure continued and we quickly felt the need for more space in order to properly welcome our customers and always offer them the best products, in the best conditions. So, here we are now, on Rue de la Clarté!"
